Van Gaal set to quit football.

Former Manchester United and Holland coach, Louis van Gaal, has announced he is retiring from coaching, despite an offer to manage a club in Asia, where he would have earned £44million in three seasons.

The 65-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked by United last May, days after leading the Red Devils to the FA Cup trophy. Although he previously said he could work two more years. It is believed that the dead of his daughter's husband could have been a major decider.

Super Come back for Los Blanco Boys

Real Madrid steals the day in an all Spanish supercup against Sevilla.
Sevilla the Europa League winners lost Unai Emery who masterminded their three successive cup triumphs - to Paris Saint-Germain over the summer, replacing him with ex-Chile coach Sampaoli but looked set to claim another European crown, leading 2-1 deep into stoppage time.
Although lacking their super hitters, Zinedine Zidane's boys played one goal down against a ten man sevilla team until late into the game and won, thanks to Ramos late equalizer, which serves as a restitution for Konoplyanka's spot kick, and Carvajal last minute goal that denied viewers an extra 30 minutes of pure Spanish football battle.
This will be Zinedine Zidane's second trophy as Los Blancos boss.

David Moyes is Back.

Moyes is back for the Premier league.....and if what Leicester did last season is to go by, he may still be a title contender.
Sunderland after loosing Big Sam to the England National Team, has gone on to sign David Moyes as new coach.
Moyes was Formerly Everton and Man United Team coach, before his sack I'n Old Trafford, which saw him move to Spain.
Moyes has expressed his optimism for Sunderland's success for the up coming season.

FIFA visits Nigeria.

Mr. Gianni Infantino and his Secretary General, Ms Fatma Samba Samoura will be  in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja on 24th of this month, on  a two –day working visit.
The will be accompanied some of their aides, and will be received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by NFF President Amaju Pinnick, and  members of the NFF Board and Management.

On Monday, Mr. Infantino and Ms Samoura, led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung and NFF President Pinnick will pay a courtesy call on His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
A number of FA presidents from other African countries, are to be in Nigeria to join NFF in welcoming the FIFA chieftains, and will also be at the Villa.
They will also be guests at an U-13 exhibition football match at the National Stadium, before attending a corporate dinner with a legion of Nigeria’s politicians and CEO industry at the Transcorp Hilton.

The FIFA President and  the Secretary General  are proposed to fly back to  Switzerland on Monday night, and Tuesday respectively.

Pele's Second coming.

Pele would be in Nigeria from Aug. 11 to Aug. 12 for a youth development programme, tagged “WJS/YEDA Legend Edition".

His second visit to Nigeria, the first been in 1967 which allowed a two days cease fire.
This time he is coming for a street football tournament that would feature 44 youths selected from the street and sports clinics, after which he and other Africa football legends memorabilia would also be auctioned and the revenue generated from the auction would be donated to a local youth football academy.

He is expected to also be in Ghana on Aug. 14.

Chelsea FC defeated in Austria.

Preseason one, gone down in a two to nothing defeat.
Chelsea FC loses  it's first preseason game with the new coach conte to Rapid Vienna.
Antonio Conte who  took  charge of his first Chelsea match today as the Blues manager, all didn't go as the Italian could have planned or even anticipated as a team of world class players slumb to 2-0 defeat.
Chelsea played without Hazard, Fabregas, and a host of players  involved at Euro 2016.

For Rapid Vienna a good start on their new stadium, for Chelsea a call back to the drawing board.

Portugal ports to the final

Ronaldo and Nani brightens the faces of all Portuguese and fans in the world, as they powered Portugal to Euro 2016 finals. They beat Wales two goals to none. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 50th minute, while Nani a former teammate of Ronaldo doubles it by the 53rd minutes.
Bale can take consolation on the fact that his team could still battle for an Euro medal after France and Germany trashes each other out.

Messi is sentenced to 21months jail time

Messi is sentenced 21 months in Spanish jail, for invading tax.
Although messi who recently retired from international football, insists he knows nothing about his finances, which his father manages. The court did not find his statement credible enough to acquit him. His father on the other hand insist he himself was not aware of the fraud amounting to over 3million euros.

Good News is neither of them will actually go to jail as they are not sentenced for over 2years. They will both be on probation.
